What the PLOP?

Background: S. 2611

The Senate has, no doubt, been emboldened by the President's vocal support for their "comprehensive" approach to immigration reform (S. 2611), despite recent articles and votes that reveal their real priority: to create an endless supply of cheap, foreign labor in the United States.

The Washington Times reported on July 13, 2006, that the Senate bill "would require that foreign construction laborers here under the guest-worker program be paid well above the minimum wage, even as American workers at the same work site could earn less." Click here to read the entire article.

Meanwhile, the Senate recently voted against funding the 370 miles of new fencing along the southern border that they included in S. 2611. While the Senate may have voted for the fences (half as much as the House bill proposes), they apparently have no intention funding it. Click here to read more.
